Isuzu Philippines brings motoring media to Japan for exclusive test drive of the All-New Isuzu D-MAX EV

Hokkaido, Japan, October 26, 2025 — Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) recently brought members of the Philippine motoring media to the Isuzu Hokkaido Proving Ground (IHPG) in Japan for an exclusive firsthand experience of the All-New Isuzu D-MAX EV, a groundbreaking zero-emission pickup that represents Isuzu’s next step toward sustainable mobility and advanced driving performance.

During the special test drive, the Philippine motoring journalists had the rare opportunity to drive the DMAX EV in a specialized test-driving course in IHPG. being fully electric, the D-MAX EV demonstrated outstanding power and drivability, delivering instantaneous torque and confident traction through its fulltime 4x4 dual-motor system. This experience not only showcased Isuzu’s technical excellence but also gave the Philippine media a glimpse of how the brand is shaping the future of pickup mobility.

Power and Performance
The Isuzu D-MAX EV is equipped with a dual-motor system that produces a total power output of 130 kW (40 kW front, 90 kW rear) and 325 Nm of torque (108 Nm front, 217 Nm rear). With an acceleration rate of 0–62 mph in just 10.1 seconds and a top speed exceeding 80 mph, the D-MAX EV combines powerful performance with refined control. Drivers can further enhance efficiency with an available Eco Mode and four selectable regenerative braking levels, allowing them to adapt power delivery to different driving
situations while maximizing range.


Battery and Charging
Powering the D-MAX EV is a robust 66.9 kWh lithium-ion battery that delivers an estimated 263 km of range under the WLTC standard. Charging flexibility is provided through both AC and DC options: up to 11 kW for a full charge in approximately 10 hours, or DC fast charging up to 50 kW that can recharge the battery from 20% to 80% in just one hour.


Capability & Toughness
Staying true to the D-MAX’s legacy of toughness, the EV variant retains impressive off-road and loadcarrying capabilities. It boasts a maximum payload capacity of over 1,000 kilograms, a towing capacity of up to 3.5 tons, and exceptional 4x4 geometry with approach and departure angles of 30.5° and 24.2°, respectively. With 210 mm of ground clearance and a 600 mm wading depth, the D-MAX EV upholds Isuzu’s reputation for durability and dependability under demanding conditions.
